Week lesson plans

Monday: Audition and warm up

  • We learn the start of the song and have a competition for singing at the end of the lesson. We play games which reveal the student's character traits and how well they are able to express themselves. We watch a story of the week's play to learn the plot. We play ice-breaker games so students become comfortable playing and performing in front of camera. At the end of the lesson, students will be set homework to research the character they are given and draw them & research their costume

Tuesday: Perfecting our song and dance.

  • We repeat the games from yesterday to warm up then practice and repeat the song and dance which will be in the show. This will also be student homework for a competition on Wednesday. Students receive their script on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday: Script work

  • We work through 3/4 of the script and work on the expression of each character and how to perform to the camera. Students homework is for them to learn 3/4 of their script. The lines they need to learn will be tailored to their ability (age or language skills etc.)

Thursday: Technical rehearsals

- We read through all of the script once then put the whole show together with the song/dance routine. Anything which is sloppy will be tightened up before show-day on Friday.

Friday: Show Day

Students should arrive in their costumes. We will play games and get the students focused and relaxed before recording the show. Any time left over will be saying goodbye and feedback with the teacher from what the students enjoyed.

Parents will receive the edited version of the recorded show up to 7 days after the show day. This is never shared with third parties.
