International Holiday Camps

Holiday Camp FAQs

Who are the supervisors?

We are a small team of actors and child care workers who work in the performance industry. When we are not performing, we try to bring a taste of the acting and performance industry to families across the world! Parents can feel content with a safe and productive form of child care in the holidays as we aim to build children's confidence and public speaking skills as well as providing a safe environment for them to spend their school holidays. More about our team. We aim to supervise a secure environment for children of all levels of their performing abilities and foster an inclusive attitude between children within the camps.

Why are actors great with children?

Actors are trained to be expressive, animated and confident leaders of crowds which is perfect when you are working with children. Our actors are very experienced with working with children throughout the year on school theatre tours, children's parties and pantomimes! Over the years we have built a strong and reliable team of 18 actors who love to meet new students and help them begin their performance journeys. All of the tutors are experienced, native speakers of English. Each Tutor supervises a small group of 8 - 12 children so that we can create an intimate learning environment and ensure we are Covid-Secure. All students are encouraged to participate, make friends and have fun as easily as possible. More information regarding our safeguarding and Covid policies, please see our Policies page.

What will the children learn throughout the week?

In this digital age, its more important than ever for childen to socialise in-person with new friends. Our child-care philosphy is to nurture confident and social children who are able to express their feelings and emotions without any inhibitions. Our courses are a great way to help children to become more confident speaking skills for their future working lives. With a 20-minute performance performed for their parents at the end of each week, students have the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills in front of a crowd of parents - a very important tool for later in life. In addition, with water games, language games, arts and crafts and ball games in between our drama-based activities, our Holiday Camps are a great way to spend the holidays for all children!

When and where do the courses take place?

We work with over 15 private and international schools across the UK and the world to bring Holiday camps to your local area. We only work with schools who maintain a high standard of health & safety and safeguarding practices within their facilities. A full list of the school's we will be at this year can be found on the registration page. Camps take place in the school holidays and usually consists of five camp daysfrom 09.00 until 16.00 from Monday to Friday. Please check our registration page for the exact time and dates of the course in your local area!

When do the performances take place?

Each group of 8 - 12 children will devise their own peice of theatre to perform for parents at the end of each week at 15:30 on Fridays. Shows will be recorded, edited and sent only to parents of the camp around 3 weeks after each performance - we never publish any material publically unless having written consent. Please see our policies page for information about how we keep our audiences safe, following government guidelines for audience. For full information about how we respect the privacy of children and how we manage your data via our policies page.

How do we ensure safety at the camps?

Our BA qualified British actors and child-care workers are selected through 2 stage interview process in the UK and further undergo our own in-house training process as well as:

  • An Enhanced DBS police background checks
  • An Educare Safeguarding Course
  • Provide references from at least 2 previous child-care employers
  • one member of the team on each camp holds a recognised Paediatric First Aid qualification
Unlike many child-care companies, we work with a small team of regular supervisors. We never run more than 5 camps at any one time in order to ensure quality control and best-practice on each camp. All recruitment is performed in accordance with UK Government & OFSTED guidelines, for more information please see our Policies page.

What are Holiday Camps like?

We are on a mission to improve the self-confidence, social skills and performance abilities of children across the world through theatre.

Our holiday camps are taught by professional actors from the UK, in which students learn self-confidence, public speaking and perform in a show to parents!

International Holiday Camps have a variety of course levels, suited to children from 4 to 17 years. Students are places in age specific groups of between 7 and 14 children per group. Each group takes part in activities suited to their age range with their tutor.

Students have the opportunity to improve their performance skills, learn about the entertainment industry and develop their social skills with mother-tongue English actors, in their local school!

With a professional English performance performed for their parents, students have the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills - a very useful tool for later in life.

In addition, with water games, language games, arts & crafts and lessons with native British actors our Theatre Camps are a great way to spend the summer!
