芸術監督からのメッセージ
英国のクリエイティブ産業は、豊富な才能と新進気鋭のアーティストで世界的に有名です。世界が変化するにつれ、あらゆる分野の学生がパフォーマンスから得られる概念は、これまで以上に必要とされるようになると私は考えています。
イングランド北部で生まれた私は、幸運にも地元のアマチュアダンス・演劇グループに所属することができました。LAMDA、RADバレエ、IDTAタップダンスの資格を取得しました。
9歳から13歳までの間、私と親友は毎年クリスマスに6週間、街頭でクリスマスキャロルを歌っていました。その収入で、年間ダンスと演劇のレッスンの費用の5割を賄っていたのです。私たちは毎年冬になると、ノッティンガム、シェフィールド、マンチェスターの街の中心部で、天使のような歌声を響かせながら歌い、その後マクドナルドに行って、席を分け合い、ハンバーガーを食べ、お釣りも分け合っていました。
子供の頃は、シェフィールド・シアターズ・プロダクションズで舞台に立ち、短期間ですがウェストエンドのミュージカル『オリバー！』でアンサンブルキャストとして出演した経験もあります。
私が12歳の頃、訓練には現地の高度な技術が必要だったため、ロンドンまで電車で何時間もかけて通わなければなりませんでした（正規の切符代が払えない時は、トイレにこもることもありました！）。私はいつも一人で通っていたので、両親は大きなリスクを負い、クリスマスキャロルの費用も負担してくれました。
IBTSを設立した目的は、ロンドンの質の高い教育を受けるために、子どもたちが自宅から45分以上かけて通学する必要がないようにすることでした。
高校卒業後、イスタンブールで2年間演劇監督を務め、その後イタリアで9ヶ月間英語と演劇の教師をしました。その過程で、生徒が俳優のところへ行くのではなく、俳優が生徒のところへ行くという形が可能になるのではないかと気づきました。そうすれば、質の高いトレーニングが生徒にとってより身近で、安価で、安全なものになるはずです。
シェフィールド大学で言語学を専攻していた頃、趣味として劇団を立ち上げることにしました。しかし、ヨーロッパやイギリス中の学生からこれほど多くの研修需要があるとは予想していませんでした。今では、私たちのチームは年間を通して22か所の様々な場所で指導を行っています。
2018年の設立以来、インターナショナル・ブリティッシュ・シアター・スクールの16名の教師陣は、現在25ヶ所以上の拠点で毎年1500名以上の生徒を指導している。
ジュニアコースは、子どもたちが日常生活で効果的にコミュニケーションをとるための重要な「ソフトスキル」を身につけることを目的としています。生徒たちは観客の前で舞台に立ち、パフォーマンスを行うことで、人前で自信を持って話す力を養います。
上級コースでは、演劇や映画の分野でのキャリアを考えている学生に対し、トレーニングによって得られるスキルやメリットを教えることを目的としています。
上級コースの受講生は、キャンプ期間中に顔写真とデモリールを持ち帰ることができ、これらはエージェントへの応募やキャスティングディレクターへの送付に利用できます。

We will teach your children how to think not what to think
We want to teach children to be prepared for the challenges life will bring. Self-belief, courage and humility are subject matters which we want to help students discover with in themselves. We prepare students to become leaders who can listen. We only teach within the discipline of performing arts, students outlook on things like politics and life choices are for them to decide.
Our Fundamental Beliefs as a School:
Individualized Learning
Exercises should match what students need and focus on skills they need to improve most.
Purposeful Practice
Every exercise should copy real stage or screen situations with a clear goal to help students learn.
Authentic Performance
Performing in front of real audiences or on camera is the best way to grow as a performer.
Independent Growth
Teachers should help students perform independently quickly, giving kind and clear feedback to guide improvement.
Joyful Learning
Learning should feel like play, especially for students under 12, to keep it fun and break mental barriers.
Teacher as Role Model
Teachers should lead by example—showing how to do exercises with energy and expression, then letting students try.
Reflective Practice
Older students should watch and think about their own performances to understand their style and improve.
Safe Training Environment
Our courses should provide a safe and supportive place to practice, preparing students for real professional work.
Career Support
We should help students find auditions, introduce them to agents, and support them and their families to get their first roles.
Graduation to Professional Work
We want students to start their professional careers as soon as they are ready but remain available to support continued learning.
Recognised Qualifications
Most of our students will not perform professionally their entire adult lives. That’s why we offer options to earn OFQUAL / UK government-recognised qualifications through LAMDA and Trinity College London’s Arts Award across all our programs.
We are on a mission to improve the self-confidence, social skills and performance abilities of children across the world through theatre and performance.
We are a small team of actors and child care workers who work in the performance industry. When we are not performing, we try to bring professional acting training students across the world.
We aim to supervise a secure environment for children of all levels of their performing abilities and foster an inclusive attitude between children within the camps.
We are an OFSTED registered company and adhere to UK safeguarding standards.
